Garage door problems we see across St. Catharines

Older lakeside homes, many with detached garages and wood doors on their original extension springs. We convert these to torsion hardware with safety cables, or replace with a carriage-style door that suits the street.
Merritton, Western Hill and Facer
Post-war worker housing near the old canal and the factories. Small single garages, low headroom, and a lot of doors that have been patched rather than repaired. We fit low-headroom track and wall-mount openers where a rail will not clear.
Glenridge, Grantham and Secord Woods
1960s to 1980s subdivisions with attached single and double doors on their second or third opener. Springs, rollers and track are the routine work.
Vansickle, Martindale and the north end
Newer builds near the QEW with insulated doors and belt-drive openers. Calls are mostly electronic: sensors, boards and remotes.
Older garages, smaller openings, planned routes
A lot of St. Catharines was built before standard door sizes, and the post-war neighbourhoods near the canal have some of the smallest garages we see anywhere. Openings under 8 feet and headroom under 10 inches are normal in Merritton and Western Hill. A stock door will not fit and a rail opener will not clear the ceiling.
